Miles Electric Skateboard Breaks Crowdfunding Record - Fully Funded in Under Two Minutes

SAN DIEGO - Dec. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- Miles Board recently launched their Indiegogo campaign this week, aiming to sell their single and dual motor electric skateboards on pre-order for half the normal sticker price. With the modest goal of $500, sources reveal that the amount had been reached in a record-breaking two minutes from launch. They have since raised almost $40,000* in their first 24 hours, 8000% of their goal.

"We were absolutely blown away at the response," says Rob Rast, the co-founder of Miles. "Our focus [on Indiegogo] wasn't to make a ridiculous amount of money, it was to get a board to as many people as possible for the lowest price."

Rast and co-founder Pete Leaviss, are no stranger to crowdfunding. Miles Board is the sister company to FLX Bike, an electric bike company Rast and Leaviss brought to Indiegogo in 2016. The success of FLX, which raised over $2 million on the crowdfunding website in 60 days, fueled and inspired the creators to develop another product that aligned with their passion for speed-- the Miles electric skateboard.

The company boasts that the top speed of their e-skateboard can push upwards of 22 miles per hour, with a range of 10-18 miles on a full battery charge. Miles also aims to be one of the first customizable eboards on the market, with custom grip tape designs and mix-and-match pink and black wheels. The company has plans to diversify their product line with possible expansions leading into electric longboards, backpacks, and other skate-related accessories.

Shipments for the pre-orders are projected to ship out to backers as early as March 2019.
