New Camping World / Gander Outdoors Location Nearing Completion in Baxter

BAXTER, Minn. - Nov. 30, 2018 - PRLog -- Vercon, Inc., a commercial builder headquartered in Minnesota, is nearing the completion of a much-anticipated project to construct a new Camping World and Gander Outdoors retail space on the site of a former Gander Mountain in Baxter. The stores will be located off busy Highway 371, at Edgewood Drive North.

Vercon is honored to be working with project owner's representative, Oppidan Inc., an Excelsior, Minnesota commercial developer. The relationship between Oppidan and Vercon is based on mutual respect, trust and a history of successful collaboration. Vercon is currently working with Oppidan on another successful commercial project in Colorado and is very grateful for the confidence that Oppidan has in their firm.

Scheduled to begin in November, phase three is the final phase of the project. Vercon began construction on the site in August and has already completed the first two phases, consisting of a complete interior gut demolition and site work for the new stores. The project site consists of 120,000 square feet of retail space and has been completely reroofed.

Kevin Littman, Project Executive for Vercon, is heading up construction. "The project team has worked together exceptionally well throughout this project, from design through construction," he said. "Our team has carefully planned and sequenced construction to make certain that we deliver an exceptional building experience."

The final phase of construction will consist of completely new rooftop mechanical equipment and distribution, as well as interior finishes. Fans of recreational vehicles will be able to enjoy the new 10-bay RV service center that is being constructed as part of the project.

"It's been a pleasure working on this project," Littman continued. "This location had been vacant for over a year, and it's great to be able to breathe new life into the area and make it a world-class retail space again."

Construction is scheduled to be complete in March 2019.
