Follow on Google News | The ZYG 808 Supports The #ChangeTheName of Faneuil Hall MovementIt's not about erasing the past as much as it's about improving the future. The ZYG 808 stands in support of the effort to change the name of a historic site in Boston bearing the name of a reputed slave trader.
By: Soul Poers Records If the proposal is reviewed and accepted the new name of the hall would be Attucks Hall named for Crispus Attucks, a sailor killed during the Boston Massacre who was of Wampanoag and African ancestry. In addition to the name change would be the installation of a plaque that would detail the origins of the hall and it's founder. Among the presenters was Grammy nominee, The ZYG 808 who performed "Insanity" for the enthusiastic crowd of supporters ad passers-by. "Insanity" -which appears on his E.P. "At The Party" is one of his singles that addresses social inequities. https://www.facebook.com/ The ZYG 808 is a member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, and similar to Attucks' background, is also of Afro-Caribbean ancestry. A Hip-Hop Jazz artist, The ZYG 808 refers to his unique style of rapping and playing the drums at the same time as "Rappercussion" The ZYG 808 will be performing with The GroovaLottos on December 1st at Electric Haze in Worcester, MA and on the 8th at the Dedham Square Coffeehouse in Dedham, MA.
