Advent Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: One week from £1295 pp

The trip involves visiting many of the places that are mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments, and where Jesus performed some of his miracles, including Cana, where he turned the water into wine at the wedding of a friend, and the feeding of the 5000 with two loves and five fishes during the Sermon on the Mount.

Other places and sites visited will include the ancient city of Jericho where, in the words of the famous children's song, 'the walls came a tumblin' down', Mount Tabor, Jacob's Well and the Sea of Galilee – with a boat ride in a traditional-style vessel.

In the second part of the trip in the south of Israel, highlights will include the Church of the Nativity – the place of Jesus's birth in Bethlehem – the site of Jesus's baptism by John on the River Jordan, the Dome of the Rock, the Mount of Olives, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Gardens of Gethsemane – where Jesus was famously betrayed by Judas Iscariot.
