ProPics Canada Photography Nominated for 2 BC Business Awards
ProPics Canada is an internationally known photography company which uses photography to not only bring news, business, nature and wildlife images to viewers but also uses photography to raise awareness of social issues.
ProPics Canada Photography is a name which is not as recognized world wide as the photos taken by ProPics. Over 35 million people a year (and rapidly growing) view photos and small video clips by the company when using Google Maps, Google Reviews and Google Places among other online sites such as Canadian Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, Business and Corporate advertising and marketing materials, local, national and international news sites among media outlets. Some ProPics Canada Photography images and video clips were used in the Discovery Chanel's "Hell Fire Heroes" season finale, honoring the hard working forest fire fighters who battled the 2017 BC forest fires.
ProPics Canada Photography also utilized photos and videos to raise awareness and education on topics ranging from substance abuse on our streets, homelessness, local and community history and current facts, promoting small businesses and encouraging international travel to Canada. Much of which is done at no cost to the businesses and communities.
Photography is an art which has the ability to influence change in a sometimes ugly world. Photos tell a story and can impact the outcome of a situation. An example of this is the use of imagery in traditional, new and social media. A simple text posted on a social media site does not stir the same emotional response as a photo or video posted to the same group. With cameras in the hands of the majority of people in today's digital society, much of the art is slowly being lost. There is more to a real camera and photography than just pointing a cell phone and sharing it to Facebook.
ProPics Canada creates a large number of images and videos for online use, but the part of the the business which pays the bills and allows for the "non paid" content creation is corporate and business multimedia content development and production. No matter how big or how small a company may be, results are driven by dynamic and influential stories. These stories are best told through visualization. It does not have to be an expensive and time consuming process, but does have to be clear and concise for today's busy world.
