Follow on Google News | Local Special Needs Facility Re-Launches Under a New Name - Julian's HouseA program for the intellectually and developmentally disabled
By: Julian's House Day Habilitation Program The center was created as a result of concern and frustration over trying to find a program that met the needs of Julian and his parents. Prior to opening, the Crawfords' found that either the wait lists were too long, the commutes were too far, the prices seemed unreasonable, and sometimes the quality of the programs appeared insufficient. In an effort to address each of these concerns, Julian's House was launched Ingrid Crawford, co-owner, stated, "At the end of the day, parents and family members of individuals with disabilities want to ensure that their loved ones are being nurtured and cared for in a way that will allow them to grow socially and emotionally, and live with dignity." Conveniently located in the Cypress area, Julian's House prides itself with being a clean, modern facility with a "home-like" atmosphere. The program focuses on teaching basic life skills and provides activities including cooking, arts and crafts, field trips, and much more. Currently there is no waiting list, with more than 40 spaces available. The prices are competitive and the programming is tailored to fit individual needs. Parents and family members of loved ones with disabilities are encouraged to stop by to take a tour. It was created to help support quality of life and integrate those with disabilities into the communities in which they live.
