New Release: netTerrain 8.0 Enhances Usability, Discovery, Security, Outside Plant
"We are continually advancing netTerrain; it's an ever-evolving product. We listen to what our users need to make their tasks easier. With each release, we respond," commented Jan Durnhofer, CEO of Graphical Networks. "netTerrain 8.0 gives users even greater usability, enhanced access to state-of-the-
netTerrain's many outside plant users managing circuits and strands just got easier. Users can now associate strand counts with a cable -- and design redundant, shortest, and diverse circuits based on their outside plant layouts. In addition, the circuit layout view has been revamped while strand and circuit reports are now available.
For netTerrain users who need to discover layer 2, the discovery engine has been completely rewritten. Data of any kind can now be collected, in a multi-tenant environment. New layer 2 functions include an improved scanning of the bridge-MIB tables, LLDP, CDP, ping and more.
Across all flavors of netTerrain, usability is enhanced with netTerrain's continuous focus on simplifying the use of enterprise software. For example, catalog nodes can now be created in netTerrain just by dragging and dropping objects from the internet or a folder.
The existing REST API now includes far more calls and methods: users can create (virtually) anything through the GUI. The already robust SOAP API has also seen improvements based on user feedback.
As Graphical Networks received the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM)'s Certificate of Networthiness this year (CoN), the software has undergone even greater emphasis on security, compatibility, and sustainability so as to comply with Army and Department of Defense (DOD) stringent criteria for this certification.
netTerrain 8.0 is now available to all current Graphical Networks Annual Maintenance Plan subscribers.
