Old School Runescape Mod DismissedJagex moderator got fired for stealing OSRS gold, among other accusations. Hopefully, this is a wake-up call for the company to increase security and a stricter screening for future mods.
By: PlayerAuctions™, LLC Something's Amiss? The company figured that something was up during a routine check. They found irregular activity concerning the movement of the currency and some items in a few accounts. Soon after, they fixed the problems before it could affect the majority of the game. Company policy states they won't return gold, however, they made an exception for this incident. They promptly fired the employee and subsequently returned the stolen gold. The player base sighed collectively in relief. However, they still need to increase security or at least put up more safeguards to preclude this kind of fiasco from occurring again. What Now? We can hope that Jagex has indeed implemented stricter and more rigid screening of future Mods. This is something that cannot be repeated again. It's something that hurts both parties, albeit the former employee more so than the company. However, the damage has already been done. People are going to remember, and the internet never forgets. There's a lesson to be learned in all of this though. There will always be jerks in the world. You can't control them, but you can control how you react to them. Warn other players, tell the developers even if they don't believe you, and don't worry about your virtual assets. They can be replaced as well. With that, continue enjoying OSRS!
