BRONX, N.Y. - Sept. 21, 2018 - PRLog -- Dialogue with Three Chords (D3C) will present STARRY CHASTE IN THEIR COLOSSAL CORRUPTION to usher in their eighth year producing independent theatre in lower Manhattan. The series of short performances, written by Stephen Gracia and directed by Michael LoPorto, finds inspiration in the turn-of-the-century vaudeville scene.

The show starts at 8pm on Wednesday, September 26, downstairs at Von Bar on 3 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10012. Admission is free.

"STARRY CHASTE IN THEIR COLOSSAL CORRUPTION is a collection of plays about vaudeville, the occult, and the revolutionary power of a dirty joke," Gracia explains. The playwright said the work "explores the intersection of sex, magic, and the way a good dance routine can change the course of history."

STARRY CHASTE IN THEIR COLOSSAL CORRUPTION includes "The Wickedest Girls In The World Plot The Assassination Of Thomas Edison," where two members of a sister act vow to stop the destruction of vaudeville by the coming motion picture industry. In "Art Is Long, And Life Is Short", two vaudevillians share different interpretations of "The Dance of the Seven Veils," and in "Naught Can Amaze Me, And Dislike Cannot Daze Me", the world's greatest vaudeville performer shares a drink with the 20th century's greatest beast.

Gracia and LoPorto co-founded D3C at Mr. Dennehy's in 2011. Previous D3C shows have featured musicians, poets, and burlesque performers. They've also partnered with local independent theatre groups such as BrooklynONE to produce innovative and challenging free theatre to New York City.

STARRY CHASTE IN THEIR COLOSSAL CORRUPTION features: Jessica Bathurst, Sarah Beitch, Ally Callaghan, Marisela Gonzalez, Kenny Wade Marshall, Sean Meehan, and Edie Nugent.
