PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Ontario - Sept. 5, 2018 - PRLog -- In this paper, we present a new method for Hourly Live GHG (HLGHG) calculation and HLGHG forecasting generated by electrical energy consumption. Most of the GHG standards rely on emission factors provided by IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) for different fuel types. In general, it is not obvious that one can make a direct comparison to conclude any specific standard is better than others. Nevertheless, if one wants to calculate and compare GHG emissions from two properties located in two different countries/regions, one needs to make sure that they are applying country-specific emission factors for each fuel. Our method does not depend on any specific factors and provides an upper bound for HLGHG generated by the Electrical Grid. We can compare the emitted GHG by different buildings in different countries/regions. We show our results are consistent with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) method. Finally, we provide a forecasted upper bound and lower bound for HLGHG by using a combination of Regression and ARIMA models, and by using our method for HLGHG calculation.
