Foren Boi Virtual Launch Party Goes Well Despite Doubt from Music Critics and Naysayers

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- Not since Grammy award winning rapper Akon, who is a descendant of Senegal, has American rap music experienced an artist with ties to West Africa. Although there have been artists from other countries to represent American hip hop music, not one could be found from West Africa until recently. Despite doubt from music critics and naysayers who thought there could never be another artist to emerge from West Africa since Akon, that doubt was shattered last Friday.

Introduced to the world on August 10th, via Facebook and Instagram Live - a multitude of viewers tuned in to a Virtual Launch Party held for Foren Boi, whose real name is Abubakarr Tura. A descendant of Sierra Leone, Foren Boi claimed his position in American hip hop that day with the debut of his much anticipated single, "Give Luv 2 Me". And despite what music critics, naysayers, or anyone thought about Foren Boi, possibly being the next Akon, they all couldn't wait to tune in to find out who he was.

With nothing scripted or staged for the live occasion, Foren Boi took to Facebook and Instagram Live sitting in a desolate room. Somewhat shy, he began with a brief introduction, "What it is, what it do, what it feel like, this the one and only Foren Boi, a.k.a Money Prince, a.k.a Young Pharaoh", and at that moment it became obvious he wanted the world to know exactly who he was. But just knowing his name alone wasn't enough to persuade critics to become huge Foren Boi fans. However, his heartfelt story of survival from Sierra Leone to America was so captivating, that everyone watching understood his passion for music, and his will to succeed.

Speaking from his heart, Foren Boi shared his real life story of how his family survived the Civil War of Sierra Leone in the 90's, during the blood diamond crisis. A time in which Sierra Leone was under attack by Liberian rebels, whose brutal acts of violence in the country was funded by the precious stone miners killed for. It was this tragic story that kept everyone listening, and asking questions.

Although far removed from his native country, the pain could be heard in his voice as he struggled to talk about the experience. But as painful as it was for Foren Boi to talk about, it was just as painful listening as he continued. This wasn't a movie reenacted that everyone had already seen, this was a true life story with a happy ending, because this Virtual Launch Party was also the debut of his single, "Give Luv 2 Me". Released August 10^th, under the Atlanta-based LS Muzik Group label, Foren Boi proved everyone wrong as he solidified himself in the ranks of American hip hop - as the next multi-talented artists to come out of West Africa.
