Delve into the Depths in Path of Exile's Newest Expansion
Path of Exile's upcoming expansion brings players into the depths of an abandoned mine. Many PoE items and others are up for grabs, but are you willing to brave the dark?

The Azurite Mine is a system of underground tunnels, caverns, and mines where countless civilizations lived. Then, a malevolent darkness consumed it. Normal lights could not penetrate the void left behind, and anyone it swallowed would disappear. The mines sat undisturbed for 250 years—until an inventor harnessed the power of Voltaxic Sulphite. He was then able to create a device that served as a beacon in the inky darkness.
The Crawler, your lifeline in the mines, moves along tracks at a set pace—though it will speed up if you get ahead of it. Players can plot their course using a Subterranean Chart that lists the types of encounters, rewards, and environments to expect. Along the way, you'll encounter enemies and treasures close enough to the Crawler to get.
However, there are greater treasures off the beaten path. So how do you reach them without succumbing to the utterly oppressive darkness? You can bring flares on your trips to the mine. They'll let you move away from the Crawler for a time. Note, however, that if you run out, it results in your character's immediate death (unless you manage to get to the light in time).
The deeper you go, the harder the encounters will be, but the better the rewards you'll get.
There are also more unique PoE Items as well as new and updated skills to look forward to. They may be for the Guardian and Pathfinder for the most part, but anyone who is in a group with them can benefit as well.
The Delve Expansion opens on August 31 for PC, and September 3 for Xbox.
