Lawsuits Filed by Jonathan W. Johnson, LLC on Behalf of Four Landscapers Who Developed Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma After Using Roundup Herbicide In Georgia

ATLANTA - Aug. 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Roundup is a herbicide manufactured by Monsanto. The active ingredient in Roundup, glyphosate, has been shown in some studies to have a link to certain cancers, specifically, non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Lawsuits have been filed against Monsanto due to this alleged connection. Many of the lawsuits have been combined to form a multidistrict litigation (MDL) which is venued in the U.S. District Court of Northern California. Jonathan W. Johnson, an Atlanta attorney, has filed four additional cases in the U.S. District Court of Northern Georgia. Each of these cases have subsequently been transferred to the MDL in California.

The first case involves Jarvis A. White, a Fairburn, Georgia resident who was a landscaper for over 15 years. He used Roundup while engaging in his landscaping business.  Mr. White stated, "My first symptoms of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma were lumps in my groin area and waking up at night drenched in sweat." He was diagnosed with Stage IV non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in December 2013. Although he has had chemotherapy treatment, his diagnosis is terminal. US District Court Northern District of Georgia Case # 1:17-CV-04781-AT.

The second lawsuit involves James F. Brown, an Oxford Georgia resident, who started a property service company in 1986 after retiring from professional boxing. His company provided multiple services including landscaping to apartment complexes and other properties. He stated, "We used Roundup in my business because of its effectiveness." He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2016. US District Court Northern District of Georgia Case # 1:17-CV-04778-CAP.   Mr. White and Mr. Brown both gave interviews to WSB-TV in Atlanta.  https://www.wsbtv.com/video?videoId=800097456&videoVersion=1.0

US District Court Northern District of Georgia Case # 1:17-CV-04779- WSD.

The fourth case involves John R. Simmons, a Trion, Georgia resident who used Roundup extensively when he worked as a maintenance man and groundkeeper for the Trion City School System. He was diagnosed with Stage I non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2012. He underwent months of chemotherapy in early 2013. He further stated, "I have been informed that the non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is in remission; however, I am required to undergo a CT scan and bloodwork every six months to monitor my health."
