CARPINTERIA, Calif. - July 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Society today is focusing on the quality of life among the fastest growing population—American seniors. According to the California Department of Aging, seniors will have an overall increase of 112 percent during the period from 1990 to 2020. To better enhance the day-to-day lives of residents, GranVida Senior Living and Memory Care implemented It's Never 2 Late ® (iN2L), co-founded by iN2L President Jack York.

Since the technologies' first implementation at GranVida in 2017, it has recently been voted as one of the top five social engagement tools among seniors as a technology utilized to better address the social and emotional needs of seniors, according to Medtech Boston.

The residents at GranVida had a very positive reaction to the technology (nicknamed Einstein) that is utilized in more than 2,000 senior living communities across the United States.

"In our Memory Care community, there are no residents isolating themselves in their rooms anymore," said Linda Simpson, Community Relations Director for GranVida Senior Living and Memory Care. "Once Einstein really took hold, residents became excited each time Einstein powered up. It has become an integral part of our activity program for our Activity Coordinator and the Resident Assistants."

It's Never 2 Late ® founder Jack York says this technology has made tremendous strides with the senior community and is excited to see how seniors have reacted to the technology. "The primary mission of the company was to make the residents' lives better but what we learned is when you get the older adults engaged, families look at them differently and staff look at them differently," said Jack York. "Most importantly, we are breaking down stereotypes of what people with dementia can do, if they're engaged with something that is meaningful to them."

The residents at GranVida have been enjoying all the benefits of It's Never 2 Late ®. "Each day we are discovering more ways to use Einstein to augment care plans, stimulate memories, make new memories and create opportunities for families to enjoy the activities along with their loved ones," said Simpson.

Felipe Garcia, Activities Coordinator at GranVida said the technology can be tailored to each resident. "We do all kinds of activities and are able to focus on what interests each one of our residents," said Garcia. "I recommend the implementation and use of this great technology for other communities to bring that extra touch to their daily programs."
