It's Time for Shore Builders Association's Annual BBQ on the Beach and Dune Buggy Races in Support of Jar of Hope

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - June 26, 2018 - PRLog -- It's time to rev your engines with Shore Builders Association of Central NJ (SBACNJ) at its annual BBQ on the Beach and Dune Buggy Races, to be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Martell's Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant. Each year, the association's builder members, with support from their associate member pit crews, race their team's miniature dune buggy cars across the sand in an effort to win the highly coveted first place prize trophy. In addition to the fun and food at this event, the association will be asking for donations to support Jar of Hope, which raises money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

According to Michael J. Kokes, current SBACNJ President, "Every year at this event Shore Builders Association members come together to enjoy an evening of friendly competition and networking in a casual atmosphere. This year we are  proud to support our Past President and member Corey Wescoe, in his goal to run the New York Marathon on November 4^th to raise awareness and donations for Jar of Hope." DMD is a debilitating and fatal childhood disease that affects about 300,000 boys worldwide. It is a form of muscular dystrophy that is caused by a mutation of the dystrophin gene – located on the X chromosome – which codes for the protein dystrophin.
