Pulp is mostly made up from wood fiber. Wood is reduced to pulp through mechanical and chemical treatment. In addition to its primary uses such as printing & writing, packaging and tissue market, technological advancements led to use of pulp in fiber industry also. Higher purity fibre grades include diapers, rayon-based clothing, LCD screens, pharmaceuticals, food applications, and food casings. On the basis of cellulose content, pulp is broadly categorized into four: market pulp, fluff pulp, viscose cellulose and specialty cellulose.
