Addiction Recovery House in Salisbury to Expand Outreach

Representatives of a recovery house in Salisbury, Maryland recently announced that they plan on establishing another facility and expanding outreach.

SALISBURY, Md. - June 4, 2018 - PRLog -- Tish Ottey, the founder of the Douglas K. Hamilton House for Recovery located in Salisbury, recently announced that she is working to open another similar facility in the area.

The Douglas K. Hamilton House for Recovery opened in April 2017 and since then it has served about 50 men.

The men stayed there for an average of 90 days and while in the house, they were required to not use drugs and to attend meetings with counselors for drug addiction recovery support.

The residents are also expected to care for the property and find employment in the first two weeks after they move in.

The success of the recovering residents inspired her to drug addiction recovery services not only to the people who reside in Salisbury but also in other parts of Worcester County, Ottey stated.

Last month, she announced to the Salisbury City Council that she has plans to open a new drug addiction recovery house in Berlin, in Worcester County.

Local residents have expressed concerns but Ottey explained that similar worries came up before the recovery house in Salisbury opened.

However, she said that the neighbors were pleased to see the house didn't bring chaos to the area.

This month, a town zoning regulation committee will review the nonprofit-status application of the new sober living home.

Ottey expects to open the new facility within six months.
