Renewal: Going Native

As Part of Native Plant Week

New Exhibition on the Beauty of Florida's Indigenous Plants and Wildlife Runs Through August 4; Free Opening Reception is June 20

(West Palm Beach, FL – May 15, 2018) Fatima NeJame, president and chief executive officer of the world-renowned Palm Beach Photographic Centre (PBPC), today announced the museum's current exhibition:

Renewal: Going Native

100 Awesome Images from 18 Talented Photographers

Presented in partnership with the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society (PBCC-FNPS), this exhibition is part of Renewal: Going Native Plant Week celebrating the City of West Palm Beach's recently revised landscape ordinance that highlights and rewards the use of native plants in public and private landscapes.

Working together, PBPC and PBCC-FNPS selected 18 photographers who are focused on the beauty of Florida's native landscape, including Kevin Barry, Donna Bollenbach, Richard Brownscombe, Christina Evans, George Gann, Roger Hammer, Kirsten Hines, Craig Huegel, Teri Jabour, Mary Keim, Susan Kolterman, Susan Lerner, Don Marchetto, Chuck McCartney, Rufino Osorio, Rebecca Sabac, Loret Setters and Peg Urban.

"Images in the exhibition range from exquisite close-ups of flowers to mysterious landscapes, and from wild natural areas to planned private gardens," says NeJame. "Our goal is for the viewer to experience the joy and aliveness of the native landscape."

A free opening reception for this exhibition will be held on  Wednesday, June 20, from 6 to 8 pm.

"The Renewal: Going Native exhibition at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre is made possible by the support of numerous public and private donors, including City of West Palm Beach Commissioners Sylvia Moffett, Shannon Materio, Keith A. James, Paula Ryan and Cory Neering," adds NeJame. "Special thanks also go to the Florida Wildflower Foundation, Audubon Everglades, The Institute for Regional Conservation, Oleander Garden Club, Teri Jabour, Mary Jo Aagerstoun and more."
