New Memoir "No Excuses" Delivers Inspiring Message of Hope and Survival in Face of Unthinkable Abuse
By: Stillwater River Publications
In her new memoir No Excuses, author Yolanda Alvarez shares the deeply personal account of this vicious childhood. But instead of portraying herself as a victim, she explains how the terrible abuses made her stronger, leading her not only on a path of survival, but allowing her to overcome these tribulations, grow, thrive and find lifelong success.
"Somewhere deep inside my very existence, a little light still flickered. I had to search hard to find that small light. The flicker gave me the strength to evolve and fight."
No Excuses tells of those critical moments in a little girl's life when it appears that all hope is gone, yet somehow, she finds the strength to go on. And it tells how through determination and education, anyone can overcome anything even the darkest of hours.
Yolanda Alvarez was born in the Bronx, but calls Bayport, Long Island home. She didn't really experience life until she pursued her education, becoming the first in her family to graduate high school and becoming the first woman in the master's program at Lehman College to serve as commencement speaker. Yolanda currently lives in New York City. This is her first book.
No Excuses is available to purchase through select bookstores and gift shops, major online retailers and through the publisher at www.StillwaterPress.com.
