When she returned to the workforce, she worked for a biopharmaceutical company in the Medical Services department. After leaving the Navy as a Corpsman, Shawn worked in the healthcare industry as an emergency unit LVN and a contract respiratory therapist in Silicon Valley, then started his own mobile respiratory care service in South Lake Tahoe.  After selling that business he returned to school to continue as an engineer currently working as a program manager for the military.

"We are a blended family and, when our last child left the nest, we started looking for a way that would fit both my need to make a difference in people's lives and my background in caregiving as well as Shawn's business expertise.
