Follow on Google News | Radware invites UK hackers to test their skills and win £1,500 in its Hackers ChallengeBy: Radware The Hackers Challenge series is a global competition that pits penetration testers, bug bounty hunters, and other security professionals against the clock as they try to crack a series of security challenges. The Radware Hackers' Challenge events simulate real world threats by giving participants a chance to hack both a website and a network during a live competition. During the event, participants will compete to infiltrate a system, deny services, collect or change information, escalate privileges, and perform tasks that only administrators are granted. The challengers will compete though several rounds, with alterations to permissions and security settings in each round. The participant with the most points at the end of the event will win a pass to Black Hat 2018 or £1,500. People can register to take part, or watch the event here (https://www.hackers- No two Hackers Challenges are the same, with different objectives and scenarios, yet they all act as an amazing showcase of what's possible. In Madrid, in March 2018, hacks took as little as 2 minutes to take hold, and when the conditions were tougher hackers were still able to break in within 17 minutes, using techniques like SQL injections, port scanning, tunnelling and more. Andrew Foxcroft, regional director for Radware's UK, Ireland and Nordics divisions, said: "Having seen the other challenges unfold around the world, I think this will be a really exciting event to be part of. Hackers Challenge is a great way for anyone involved in network security to test their skills in a safe and legal environment. "Plus it's a great spectacle for anyone involved in securing their company's infrastructure. They can look behind the scenes, see inside the mind of a hacker and understand how quickly attacks can be launched, even against the toughest security scenarios. Our own security researchers will be on-hand to explain the competitors' strategies and how attacks could be stopped. Ethical hacking is becoming a more common job roles in IT functions and this event is a great way to spot new talent and invite employees to reverse the tables." Radware is welcoming CIOs and anyone involved in data and information security to come along and watch events unfold. They can secure their place by selecting 'participant' on the Hackers Challenge registration page.
