PASADENA, Calif. - April 4, 2018 - PRLog -- Halstrom Academy's Pasadena Campus has just moved to a new location, allowing it to nearly double in size and capacity. The campus gained more classrooms, a larger common area for students to study and socialize, a dedicated clubroom for student clubs, a more spacious Quiet Study with a test taking kiosk, a yoga studio and a state-of-the-art science lab.

"With this gain in space comes an exciting, energized vibe that is flowing through the entire campus," said Ayesha Bangash, Director of Student Success for the Pasadena Campus. "Outside the 1:1 classes, students can be found interacting and working together in the common area. There are no cliques. The students are all supportive of one another, and a love of learning is very evident on campus."

With additional space comes new, innovative programs. Collaborating with instructors, the campus has blocked off M-F 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon for campus-wide learning activities that students participate in together. Monday is Spanish Culture Day, Tuesday is Curiosity Day where students work to solve riddles, Wednesday is College Day, and Friday is a new student favorite – Fun Science Friday. Students are loving the hands-on experiences and working with one another as they delve into areas such as physics, biology, earth science through activities such as ice cream making lab, a tower building contest, creating terrariums and making DNA strands out of edible bracelets.

The new clubroom allows for additional engagement outside the classroom through a number of clubs including yearbook, art, current events, and student government. In the yoga studio/multi-purpose room, students can participate in yoga and self-defense classes, with additional course offerings to come.

The campus celebrated with families and the local community at a grand re-opening event and ribbon cutting on March 20.
