All People's Day® Diversity Festival & March For Our Lives

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - March 21, 2018 - PRLog -- The ninth annual All People's Day^® Diversity Festival on Saturday, March 24, in solidarity with the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School,will have a "March for Our Lives."  It assembles 10:15am.at the Atlantic High School parking lot, 2455 W. Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, 33445.  The March travels east along Atlantic Avenue and joins the Festival at 11:15am indoors at Pompey Park, 1101 NW 2^nd Street and NW 10^th Avenue, Delray Beach, 33444.

All People's Day^®, Inc. and Delray Parks & Recreation present the free festival that boasts a wide variety of entertainment and connective activities for the whole family as well as free food.  This event honors the diversity of our community and their issues among which are those of women, black people, immigrant people, LGBTQ people, handicapped people, and religious and non-religious people, all through the arts.

From 11 am to 5 pm the Main Event showcases 20 dazzling performances, including dance from the Delray Divas, Kelly Academy of Irish Dance, the Chinese Performing Arts, and Le Nubian, anAfro-Haitian dance group.  Also featured is an array of music from the Milagro Ctr. Kids Drum Circle, PinkSlip, the Positively Africa Band andtheSF Taiko Dojo - playing huge Japanese drums. All acts take to the stage in 15 minute intervals treating the attendees to a vast range of cultural experiences.

Great prizes donated by local artists and businesses will be raffled off.  50 interactive and merchandise booths feature a diverse mix to see and do.  Kids will find free arts projects such as Origami Peace Crane folding, puppet making with a stage to perform, creating a mural with images of their own families, and face painting. Teens and adults enjoy hands on issue based activities among which are clever word games by nonprofits, health booths, a new important Issues Mural and mouth watering free cuisine.  Also present will be for sale items such as artwork, books, tee-shirts, jewelry, etc.

Prior to all this, a free workshop from 9:30 to 11:00 am will teach children to make the Craft Dough People, illustrating that all people are made from the same materials and should therefore be treated with equal respect.  Pre-registration for the workshop is open to the first 30 kids, ages three to twelve, who sign-up by calling (561) 495-9818.  A packaged craft kit, based on this project, is available for a donation.

All People's Day^® is a 501c3 nonprofit diversity holiday that fosters connections among people through the arts, because the arts touch people's hearts.
