NEW YORK - March 20, 2018 - PRLog -- [NEW YORK, NY] SR Socially Relevant Film Festival 2018 (SRFF 2018) will include a spotlight flute performance by Yael Acher "KAT" Modiano to a silent film-collage. After a sustainable filmmaking workshop and panel, films will be screened and a Q&A will be held with 'Sands of Silence' filmmaker Chelo Alvarez-Stehle. The day's events begins at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 21 at Cinema Village. Tickets are available on the website.

The spotlight performance piece, Time in Live Sound & Silent Motion Pictures: Power Dynamics in Weimar Cinema, is the world premiere of an electro-acoustic film score composed and performed by Yael Acher "KAT" Modiano. The performance is set to a 30-minute film collage of excerpts from Weimar films edited by Modiano.

The rapidly-growing, social-issue based festival is now in its fifth year. SRFF is a multi-faceted event that embodies the cultural values of New York and the world. SRFF 2018 showcases 70 films across an array of platforms from emerging, international and local filmmakers.
