BP Auto Spares India Talks About The Most Common Brake Problems

Drivers must understand the importance of regular brake inspections instead of having their brakes inspected when they run into a problem. Regular brake inspections provide greater safety for the person behind the wheel.

MANAUS, Brazil - Feb. 20, 2018 - PRLog -- Your car brakes are undoubtedly the most important components of your car. People often let go of the fact that regular brake inspections are quintessential for keeping you safe on the road. Having well-maintained and well-brushed brakes provide greater safety for motorists and drivers on the road. But, do you actually have full knowledge as to how your brakes work? Do you know what you should be doing to keep them in proper shape and size? Based on few surveys and data, 77% of vehicles are found to be in dire need of regular brake inspections. In case, you are apprehensive about the fact that you might need the same, you have to get yourself acquainted with the common brake problems. The director of BP Auto Spares India, acclaimed Leyland Spare Parts dealers talks about the most common brake problems and why they happen in the first place. Starting the tirade he says, the most experienced and common brake problem the drivers face is when the brakes feel soft and spongy, which otherwise should give some resistance upon pressing. If the brake pedal goes straight to the floor upon pressing hard without much effort, this is an indication of a leakage in the brake system. The first thing that you need to check whenever you witness such problem, is to check the brake fluid levels under the hood of the car, which will clear the fog of whether this is the problem or not."

He further adds," Another problem you might encounter when your brakes are going bad, is if the whole vehicle vibrates whenever you are applying brakes. This is pointing straight towards the problem associated with the rear brakes. There is a simple logic behind this, shaking in the front of the car will impact the steering wheel, while the shaking on the rear end of the car might impact the whole car. To be sure of the fact that the rear brakes are the cause, it is important to check them independently by carrying out a small rear brake test."Moving further with the tirade he says," A problem associated with the brakes might lead to your vehicle pulling to one side, which can be quite frustrating and annoying. Now, this brake problem is the result of a frozen caliper. There are numerous reasons that can lead to a caliper freezing, a piston being stuck in the caliper's bore, cracked dust boot that shields the piston, allowing water and dirt to penetrate the caliper and causing rust and corrosion. The only way to solve this "one side car pulling" problem is by replacing the caliper.

Explaining the last symptom he says," when brakes are applied, there isn't much noise. But if there is any sort of grinding, squeaking or moaning noise, then there ought to be some problem with the brakes, as they might need some adjustment. We are not saying that you must always look for these signs just to know that your brakes are in bad condition. It is important to spare time to make sure your brake lights are working just fine."
