Raleigh-Durham Area College Students Test Job Skills During FREE Career Readiness Workshop

RALEIGH, N.C. - Feb. 15, 2018 - PRLog -- The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is providing FREE career readiness skills to Raleigh-Durham area college students during the UNCF Empower Me Tour (http://www.empowermetour.org/) (EMT). EMT is a free, traveling workshop that provides college students an opportunity to connect with employers and hone the skills necessary to navigate 21^st century careers.

"We are excited to provide a platform for students to build connections with employers and mentors through the Empower Me Tour," says Paulette Jackson, Vice President of Development for UNCF. "It's the support from our sponsors —Target, Wells Fargo, P&G and FedEx--who make this work possible."

Founded by sponsor Wells Fargo, the EMT prepares students to take control of their futures by providing expert advice on resume writing, interview techniques, personal branding and financial wellness. Representatives from various companies will also recruit on-site.

The three city tour, presented by Target, kicked off in Atlanta earlier in the month. The EMT travels to Raleigh-Durham on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Shaw University, Estey Hall, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. The tour travels next to Birmingham, AL (Mar. 15).
