CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - Feb. 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Clemson University continues to lay claim to having one of the fastest tracks in the country with more world records being set on the Mondo track at its Indoor Track and Field Facility.

This past weekend, during the Tiger Paw Invitational, the University of Southern California men's 4x400m relay team of Zach Shinnick, Rai Benjamin, Ricky Morgan Jr., and Michael Norman set the NCAA indoor record and IAAF-ratified world record with a time of 3:01.98. This time also shattered the school and facility record. Florida, which placed second crossing the finish line in 3:02.23, also broke the previous collegiate record.

In addition, on Jan. 19 a new world record* was set in the men's indoor 60m at the Clemson Invitational when world silver medalist Christian Coleman stunned the athletic community with a time of 6.37, shaving 0.02 off the world record that was set in 1998 and equaled in 2001.

The NCAA Division I university's indoor track facility won the 2017 Outstanding Indoor Track Facility of the Year Award—the highest honor in the category—by the American Sports Builders Association. It features a custom-designed, state-of-the-art banked indoor track by Mondo, the global leader in the track and field, indoor sport and contract flooring markets, with the company's Super X 720 surface. Medallion Athletics Products, Inc., a general contractor and Mondo dealer based in Mooresville, North Carolina, installed the track.

Another world record* was set Feb. 3 on the Mondo track at the New York Armory during the NYRR Millrose Games when the American team of Crishuna Williams, Raevyn Rogers, Charlene Lipsey, and Ajee Wilson clocked in a time of 8:05.89 in the women's 4x800 meter relay.

The same competition saw Shaunae Miller-Uibo cross the finish line in 35.45 in the 300m, tying the current world record and setting a new world's best.
