{MISSISSAUAGA PEAKS FOR CHANGE FOUNDATION} to Host Gala Raising Funds To End The Stigma Associated With Mental Health

Peaks for Change Foundation will be hosting their 1st Annual Gala on Saturday April 28th 2018 in support of CAMH's Urgent Drop-in Clinic, which broke ground October 2017. Peaks for Change Foundation is creating awareness to #EndStigma surrounding Mental Health by climbing the highest mountains on the 7 continents of the world.

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Feb. 7, 2018 - PRLog -- Peaks for change is a volunteer organization comprised of individuals committed to helping to end the stigma associated with mental illness and seeking mental health support. Their aim is to raise funds towards supporting specialized organizations with expertise in mental health care doing their part in implementing permanent change.

Their current goal is being inspired by volunteers who are determined to climb the Seven Summits, with the goal of raising $700,000 over the next two years, benefiting CAMH. Ema Dantas a business entrepreneur of 18 years, and President and CEO of Language Marketplace Inc., is the current President and Chair of Peaks for Change Foundation. Ema has already successfully summited both Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia, in October 2017 and Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa in January 2018. Ema is poised to become the first Portuguese-Canadian woman to climb all Seven Summits, already becoming the first Portuguese-Canadian woman to climb and summit Carstensz Pyramide. The foundation and its volunteers are gearing up for their next Summit of Elbrus in Europe scheduled July 2018, followed by Vinson Massif, in Antarctica. All expeditions are privately funded and used as a tool to raise awareness and #EndStigma associated with Mental Health.

Peaks for Change Foundation was recently featured on both OMNI, Focus Portuguese, CHIN, Café da Manhã, and on February 5, LUSA News Agency, which in turn was featured in several media outlets. Coverage continues to follow, given not only its charitable works, but that Ema Dantas is set to become the first Portuguese-Canadian woman to climb the 7 Summits. On Saturday April 28, 2018 at the Mississauga Convention Centre Peaks for Change Foundation will host their first annual Gala featuring a 5-course sit-down dinner. All proceeds from the evening will go towards the Urgent Drop-in Clinic at CAMH. The evening will feature a live performance from Daniela Barbosa, who has held roles in the Sound of Music, Grease and West Side Story in addition to a range of impressive silent and live auction items.
