New Emergency Center Opens in Steamboat Springs

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. - Feb. 8, 2018 - PRLog -- Buttry & Brown Development, a respected real estate development, construction, and financing firm, recently completed the construction of the Steamboat Emergency Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Steamboat Emergency Center is a physician-owned, freestanding emergency room, and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

As part of the project, Buttry & Brown negotiated and purchased an existing 15,000-square foot building. The building, formerly a Staples, was then divided into two spaces. The first half was developed into Steamboat Emergency Center, which opened to the public in November, 2017. The remaining half of the building will become an acute surgical center.

As part of the process, Buttry & Brown managed the architect, civil engineer, and general contractor for the project. After the building was completed, the firm transitioned into managing the property as a landlord.

The high snowfall amounts that are common in the region created challenges during construction. Weather conditions made construction deliveries difficult and translated into long commute times for subcontractors on the project. Buttry & Brown's focused project management allowed construction to remain on schedule; the team found ways to solve the challenges as they appeared and move the project forward.

"The weather was a challenge," said Steve Buttry, Principal at Buttry & Brown. "But construction projects are defined by the way you rise to the everyday challenges and get the job done. In the end, we overcame the difficulties and finished on schedule."

Dr. Tom Vo and Dr. Dallas Bailes, experienced and respected emergency room doctors, founded the Steamboat Emergency Center, which is the first freestanding emergency room in the community. The emergency room is client-focused, and has streamlined the admittance process with the goal of beginning patient treatment within 10 minutes of walking in the door.
