TAMPA, Fla. - Feb. 1, 2018 - PRLog -- New editions of The Ania Trilogy by Frank Zafiro and Jim Wilsky will be published by Down & Out Books throughout 2018, followed by a never-before-published prequel to the series.

BLOOD ON BLOOD, which introduced the enigmatic Ania Kozak, will be released in April and followed by QUEEN OF DIAMONDS in June and CLOSING THE CIRCLE in October. In December the exciting series prequel, HARBINGER, will be published.

"When Frank and Jim told me they had written a prequel to the Ania trilogy, and asked if I might I be interested in publishing it, my answer was an enthusiastic yes," said Eric Campbell, publisher of Down & Out Books. "And then we all agreed it would be best to lead into its release by reissuing the trilogy with new covers and edits."

"I've worked with Eric and his team on some of my other books," added Zafiro, "and Jim and I both recognized immediately that this was the right approach to closing out Ania's story. We think Ania's origin story will intrigue readers and both finish (and begin!) the series with a jolt."

In BLOOD ON BLOOD (April 30), estranged half-brothers Mick and Jerzy Sawyer are summoned to their father's prison deathbed. The spiteful old man tells them about missing diamonds, setting them on a path of cooperation and competition to recover them. Along the way, Jerzy, the quintessential career criminal and Mick, the failed cop and tainted hero, encounter the mysterious, blonde Ania, resulting in a hardboiled Hardy Boys meets Cain and Abel.

QUEEN OF DIAMONDS (June 25) features Cord Needham, a poker circuit champion with an eye for the ladies and a dark secret in his past, and Casey Brunnell, a former baseball player fighting the cards and running up debts to a local mobster. When Ania Kozak decides to play a dangerous game with both of them, the stakes go as high as their very lives.

In CLOSING THE CIRCLE (October), Ania is pursued by John Pearse, a loss recovery agent for an insurance company, and Andros Krol, muscle for Chicago's Polish mafia. One is looking to recover lost diamonds while the other seeks brutal justice and a final reckoning. But the circle is closing on all of them.

And finally HARBINGER (December), a full-length prequel to the Ania series set on the sunny Gulf Coast of Florida, is centered around two lifelong friends and fishing charter boat partners, Boyd Tomlin and Hicks Ledoux. In desperate need of money, they consider smuggling drugs to make ends meet. By chance or fate, they meet two beautiful sisters who will change everything—a young Ania and her kid sister Karolyn. Boyd and Hicks quickly find themselves embroiled in the world of illegal drug trade, romance, danger and violence lurking around every corner.
