Fosway and Learning Technologies reveal the truth about digital learning in 2018

Fosway Group, Europe's #1 HR Analyst today unveils the headlines results from its annual Digital Realities research, in partnership with the world's leading workplace learning event, Learning Technologies.

CIRENCESTER, U.K. - Feb. 1, 2018 - PRLog -- Over 1,300 learning professionals have already shared their views on digital learning within their organisations, and with the research still open, this number is set to rise.

The aim of the research is to cut through the hype and bring clarity to the digital transformation of L&D, with a focus on what's really working – or not working – for organisations in practice. This year, for the first time, the research has been extended globally to include insights from France and the Asia-Pacific region as Learning Technologies continues to take its events to new countries.

Key headlines from the initial analysis include:

·          Investment in digital learning is set to increase again this year, but overall investment is still small compared to wider HR and business systems investment

·         Video and mobile learning are still the top two areas of growth in learning content, but are showing signs of growing maturity in everyday use

·         Microlearning jumps straight into the top five areas of growth, overtaking bespoke e-learning content. Serious Games, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality continue to lag despite the market hype

·         The commitment to LMS platforms remains strong despite the rapid growth in next gen learning environments

·         Only 6% of L&D organisations are currently prepared for GDPR. 24% have yet to start preparing!

David Wilson, CEO of Fosway Group, explained, "The digital learning market continues to be buoyant, embracing a wide range of emerging technologies. It can be a bewildering place to navigate, but digital transformation IS happening and the aim of this research is to arm L&D with the insights it needs to make informed decisions about their learning ecosystems. It is about more than the individual tools and technologies – learning solutions need to fit together to drive the right experiences and engagement for the organisation as a whole and its people."

Mark Penton, Learning Technologies Event Director, adds, "This research is providing invaluable resources for our attendees and over 10,000 members of the Learning and Skills Group worldwide. Up-to-date insights on budgets and investment, the shape of L&D teams and how they are transforming learning are all part of our way of supporting decision making and strategy for the global learning community."

The headline results will be available for the first time at Learning Technologies London on January 31st -February 1st or via the Fosway website http://www.fosway.com/research/next-gen-learning/digital-learning-realities-2018/ The full launch, including deeper analysis of the trends, insights and viewpoints reflecting the overall results will be available in the coming weeks.
