Here we take a look at some popular and some unusual activity days out:  Paintball, Low Impact Paintball, Airsoft, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Quad Biking, Archery, Battlezone Archery and Axe and Tomahawk & Knife Throwing!

Paintballing

Paintballing is a variety of game maps carefully themed around of whole array of real military vehicles and terrain. Be prepared to infiltrate a Nuclear Silo, take out the anti aircraft gun before it brings down a black hawk, capture the Barracks compound, and even save Private Ryan!

Low Impact Paintball

Revolutionary new manufacturing processes now mean that a Paintball can be made smaller, travel just as far as a standard Paintball, but now they also burst on impact.

This new smaller Paintball is around 1/3 the size of a standard Paintball and so hits with around 1/3 of the force. "Low Impact" is played in exactly the same game areas as Paintball, each player wears exactly the same kit as standard Paintball, the paintballs travel just as fast and fly just as far as a standard Paintball, but with only 1/3 of the impact.

Airsoft

Airsoft is a military simulation sporting game similar to Paintball and the guns are almost always replicas of real firearms. They are typically powered by rechargeable batteries, and on average a single charge will last for a full day's play.

They fire small plastic balls (Ball Bullets) at relatively low velocities of no more than 350 feet per second (fps) for Automatic Electric Guns (AEG's) and 450fps for single shot sniper rifles. Some guns can reach a range of up to 40 metres and are capable of firing up to 600 BB's a minute.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Clay Pigeon Shooting can be from within undercover shooting huts on a range of tailored clay pigeon shooting stands or different shooting locations set in woodland and fields with plenty of space.

Each participant will be given a set number of clays – depending on the package purchased – to shoot per person, with an equal amount of shotgun cartridges. After a few practice shots, you will be given your own individual score cards to enable you to keep score of your session. The top 3 scores will be awarded with our Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.

Quad Biking

Before the first part of your trek, all participants are given a safety briefing with instruction on how to use our automatic 300cc off-road quad bikes. You will also be kitted out with all standard safety equipment needed – helmets, gloves and overalls.

A basic skill trail will start with you driving in and out of poles, enabling you to get used to the controls, and then drive around the tight turns at a faster speed. After this is complete, a main quad trek will begin where you'll hone your skills at controlling your bike on various terrains. You will each get a total of 25 minutes minimum on the quad bikes, followed by a short "Successfull Handling Skills & Trek Achieved" presentation for bring yourself and your bike home unscathed.

This is not a race although some 300cc quad bikes can reach some fantastic speeds, focussing more on the driving skill aspect is the aim of this activity. You may drive varied terrain such as dirt tracks, woodland, grass field, and a long straight roads, up steep inclines and down hills.

Archery

Archery activity is perfect for groups of all sizes, and provides a great challenge with some friendly competition for Stag party groups, Hen party groups and Corporate days out.

A woodland archery range puts you in the role of a hunter starting with the traditional targets with the gold disc at their centre that everyone's familiar with. Then, to add an additional test of skill and interest, you'll move you on to  'lifelike' animal targets – like deer, small rabbits, wild boar and other hidden woodland wildlife.

Battlezone Archery

This exciting adrenaline fuelled game, offers the ultimate teamwork experience that's engaging for people of all ages and abilities. Battlezone Archery is played in a similar way to that of Dodgeball. With specialised bows and foam-tipped arrows.

Two teams battle it out on a field of large inflatable barricades. Where they have to try and score points by eliminating the other team – by knocking down their targets.

Axe, Tomahawk & Knife Throwing

Axe throwing as a recreational sport originating in Scandinavia. But has become popular worldwide, both as a competitive sport and as a recreational activity.

It can be surprisingly easy to pick up, with most people able to get the axe into a target within their first five to ten throws. Try different weights of axes and also for those that show good competency, then move on to throwing knives.

Hit the mark as many times as you can under the guidance of your instructors, and remember it's all about technique not the strength. Instructors will score your rounds, adding some competitive fun to your axe throwing session!
