BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Jan. 22, 2018 - PRLog -- Set in Los Angeles against the backdrop of human trafficking and a famous chess game used as an assassination plot, Greco's Game finds Talanov experiencing the murder of his wife, and what starts out as a vendetta to kill the assassin becomes a journey of redemption with the help of two young women being held captive by human traffickers. Other books in the series include November Echo, Department Thirteen, and the soon-to-be-released Dragon Head, with Talanov the fictional character being inspired by the actual KGB agent who once leaked word out of Moscow that Turner was on a watchlist for his smuggling activities behind the old Iron Curtain.

"Hollywood loves discovering hidden treasure, and the Talanov series is such a treasure," says Wonderfilm's Jeffrey Bowler.

"I'm excited to be working with TideRock and Wonderfilm," explains Turner from his home in Austin, Texas. "They've invited my input into the project because we believe great thrillers need more than nonstop action. That's not to say they don't need action – they do – and the series has that – but it's the characters and their personal odysseys in the midst of that action that make us stand up and cheer, and that means some kind of love story, be it romantic or the bond between friends and family and how those relationships are put at risk. That is what gives a book or a film the emotional 'grip' it needs."

TideRock's Thomas B. Fore sees enormous potential in Talanov. "He's a unique hero, with a great combination of edge and integrity. Turner's novels would make a great franchise of films. They would also make a great TV series. I like having such a choice."

As an author, Turner has experienced the world he creates in his books. In addition to having been a smuggler behind the old Iron Curtain, he was once a journalist in Los Angeles, where he interviewed victims of human trafficking. He is also a cancer survivor of more than twenty-five years when he was given but eighteen months to live. "When Talanov is pushed beyond limits, I've been there. When he bleeds, I've been there. When he's ripped apart from friends and family, I've been there. When he looks death in the face, I've been there. That's why Talanov resonates with people. I put him through what I've been through. He feels what I have felt."

Turner will executive produce the project, with more information available on IMDb, Turner's global website, and his official Facebook page.
