BP Auto Spares India Talks about the Working Life of car Headlights
Modern day cars are equipped with different types of headlights- high-density lamps, halogen lights and Light Emitting Diodes (LED). Each has its own highlights and serves a reasonable amount of work life.
The director of BP Auto Spares India, the leading exporters, and importers of Suzuki Spare Parts says that there are numerous factors that affect the longevity of a headlight. He adds," the configuration of vehicle electrics, excessive vibration due to poor on-road conditions or off-road conditions, faulty headlight installation, especially when the glass is damaged during the installation process, grease or grim on the surface of the bulb or the type of bulb you have installed in your car, all these factors determine how long is your headlight going to last." He adds," We will talk about the working life of different types of car headlights and how they operate under normal circumstances."
Moving on he explains," One of the most common types of headlights used in a car is high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps. These sorts of headlights employ metal halide suspended in xenon gas and they last for approximately 2,000 hours. The highlighting feature of these lamps is the amount of light they produce in relation to the electricity produced. In automobiles, high intensity discharge (HID) lamps produce more light using less electricity which is a major factor that helps in curbing the production of carbon dioxide emissions."
The next in queue is," Light Emitting Diodes (LED), these are relatively new in the headlights market but have seen an application in quite a number of turn signal, brake, tail and accessory lights. Since they are still a newborn child, the life expectancy of these lamps has not been determined by the automakers yet but they are believed to last longer than an HID system." In the end, he explains," Other commonly used headlights are the Halogen ones that are quite conventional and older in style but effective. These headlights use a filament to produce light in the form of a halogen gas and can last up to 450 to 1,000 hours."
