Senior partner and leading national product defect lawyer Brian Chase says he is proud of the law firm's accomplishments and multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements over the last four decades. But, he says, much work remains to be done in protecting consumers' rights and holding corporations accountable for their dangerous and defective products.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Jan. 11, 2018 - PRLog -- The California personal injury law firm of Bisnar Chase is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month. Founded by John Bisnar in 1978, Bisnar Chase has evolved into a national boutique law firm with six attorneys and 30+ staff members specializing in catastrophic personal injury cases, automotive defect cases, class actions, mass torts and defective pharmaceutical and medical device cases.

Bisnar Chase has gained a reputation nationally for fighting large corporations from insurance companies to automakers and manufacturers of defective products and garnering multi-million-dollar verdicts for catastrophically injured victims. The types of cases Bisnar Chase has taken on and won have also made a long-term impact on consumer rights, said the firm's senior partner Brian Chase.

"We have several published appellate opinions that have helped and will continue to help injured consumers for decades," he said. "These are legal opinions that deal with making our roads and highways safer and opinions that deal with making it easier to hold automakers accountable in auto defect trials."

Here are just a few of the firm's top verdicts and settlements:

$24.7 million jury verdict for Jaklin Romine who was rendered quadriplegic after the seatback collapsed in a rear-end crash.

·      $16.4 million settlement for Christopher Chan who was 14 when he sustained a traumatic brain injury in a bicycle versus van collision. Bisnar Chase filed a lawsuit against the city of Hanford on behalf of Chan and his parents, alleging that the city had allowed a dangerous condition to exist at the street intersection where this crash occurred.

·     $8.5 million for a catastrophically injured victim of a rollover accident.

·     $30 million for motorcycle accident victim Lucas Vogt who was severely injured in a collision.

·     $3 million for Julie Bautista who was struck and injured while riding her bike in the city of Azusa.

One of the Bisnar Chase's most noteworthy accomplishments is that the firm has been named Best Place to Work in Orange County for five consecutive years by the Orange County Business Journal. Chase says that is because of the nurturing culture the firm and team members have worked hard to create over these four decades.

"We truly believe that to get to the top of the mountain, it takes a team," he said. "No one person is more important than the other. Of course, this also helps ensure that we have a fun place that we look forward to going to work every day."

Shannon Barker, the firm's administrator who has been with Bisnar Chase for over 22 years, says she truly treasures the firm's work environment.

"Few people can sincerely say they love going to work every day," she said. "I love my job and I love my role at the firm. I'm also proud of Bisnar Chase's standing in the community. I know I've been a little piece of that magic and that is a tremendous reward."

What's kept Bisnar Chase going for 40 years? Barker says it's their ability to thrive in an extremely competitive market.

"The Romine verdict was the greatest accomplishment for us in my opinion because it demonstrated the level of Brian's expertise and put us on the map," she said. "Our pursuit of continual growth and improvement has been vital to our sustainability. What separates us from the rest is 'quality.' We retain quality cases and we provide quality service. Our level of expertise is high quality and we manage a high-quality team."

Chase said the firm's Employment Class Action team has also been fighting hard to represent and win for workers who have been shortchanged by employers on overtime, were not given proper rest or meal breaks or were not paid wages due upon termination. In addition, Chase is involved in mass tort litigation against Johnson & Johnson representing more than 1,000 women and their families who alleged that the pharmaceutical giant covered up a link between their talcum powder products and ovarian cancer, and also working diligently on several data breach class actions like Anthem, Equifax, and Yahoo.

Going forward, Chase says he and his team will continue to "fight the good fight." They are currently working on a case representing police officers who have been injured after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning from exhaust fumes leaking into their Ford Explorer cruisers. Chase has already received acclaim for representing victims of these potentially defective autos on CBS Los Angeles and Good Morning America.

But, says Chase, regardless of the publicity and high-profile cases, his personal goal and his team members' collective goal is to fight for the rights of injured consumers who have been harmed by defective products, those who have been injured by other negligent drivers or due to negligence on the part of a governmental entity.

"We're going to continue to use our talents and our efforts to fight for justice for the little guy – be it an injured consumer or worker," he said. "That's what we've done and that's what we'll continue to do."
