By: RCP/CCROA "The awards presented by the ReadyCommunities Partnership (RCP) are a powerful way to help build a community and national culture of resiliency" said RCP corporate advisory board member and charter member, Tanya Lin Jones of Sprint's Emergency Response Team. "Many volunteer and career responders have served and sacrificed this year under the threat of the Atlantic hurricanes, California fires and other crises. RCP continues its tradition to acknowledge and honor them given the importance of their service to the security, continuity and resiliency of America's communities" RCP's National Service and Sacrifice Awards were first presented at the 2007 National Congress for Secure Communities on Capitol Hill with subsequent awards presented in Charleston, South Carolina; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Long Beach, California. Rebekah Boyd-Smith accepted a 2017 award on behalf of Fallen Linemen Organization (http://www.fallenlinemen.org) and Rev. Rob Dewey on behalf of LCC. RCP is a project of the Corporate Crisis Response Officers Association and the Community Institute for Preparedness, Response and Recovery. RCP initiatives leverage technology and innovation through collaboration to reinforce America's local response capacity in the first 72 hours of a large scale crisis.
