Gravel riding is one of cycling's hottest trends. Stage 10 runs from Annecy to a mountaintop finish on Le Grand-Bornand. Unpaved roads are more taxing on the riders' legs and increase the risk of a puncture or mechanical problem. This stage could inject some suspense into the Tour's second week of racing. With Stage 12 comes the crazy atmosphere on the 21 bends of Alpe d'Huez.
