MANCHESTER, U.K. - Nov. 9, 2017 - PRLog -- The wait is over. Cycling fans can now purchase tour packages transporting them front row and center to the excitement and drama of the 2018 Tour de France.

Sports Tours International (www.sportstoursinternational.com) is one of a handful of official tour operators sanctioned to offer VIP packages and services to this event. For 20 years Tour de France has been a star of this UK company's annual line up of nail-biting, world-class cycling tours.

Cycling's biggest race, Tour de France, runs three weeks every July. Each year race organizers strive to create an innovative and suspenseful course. Pundits speculate that the 2018 tour route offers some unique challenges that could shake four-time champion Chris Froome and his dominant Team Sky. Sports Tours International will be offering a number of ways to witness the action.

Among the tour company's packages are concentrations on Stages 5-9, 10-12 and 17-19 where some of the hottest competition is predicted to take place.

Stages 5 to 9 -- 2018 Tour de France - Brittany to Roubaix, July 10-16, 2018: This is a 7 day/6 night opportunity to ride to the tour, enjoy VIP access and daily ride options. Included are six nights hotel accommodations with breakfasts, transport to the sidelines and more. The per person double rate is from £1199. The excitement builds around a 154km route from Arras Citadelle / Roubaix which include 21.7 (13 miles) kilometers of cobbled roadway. Stage 9 features multiple segments of the famous farm road cobbles, which in the rain can turn to mud. In the 2014 Tour de France it rained and Chris Froome was forced to abandon the Tour after crashing twice. It's the only edition of the Tour in the past five years that Froome didn't win. This segment follows riders as they tackle two hilly stages in Brittany. This is followed by two transition stages which initially look to be for the sprinters; however cross winds could easily split the peloton and the GC (principal riders). The Dreux / Amiens Métropole stage is on Bastille Day, guaranteeing a fantastic atmosphere. Stages 10 to 12 -- 2018 Tour de France - Annecy to Alpe d'Huez, July 16-21, 2018: This 6 day/5 night program follows the excitement of the first mountain stages in the French Alps and the first time ever tackling a gravel road on the climb to Plateau des Glieres. Gravel riding is one of cycling's hottest trends. Stage 10 runs from Annecy to a mountaintop finish on Le Grand-Bornand. Unpaved roads are more taxing on the riders' legs and increase the risk of a puncture or mechanical problem. This stage could inject some suspense into the Tour's second week of racing. With Stage 12 comes the crazy atmosphere on the 21 bends of Alpe d'Huez. This tour to ride and watch will include VIP hospitality access, the Tour de France road book, hotels in Megeve and Les 2 Alpes and daily ride options but also welcomes non-riders. The per person, double rate is from £1049. For details see https://www.sportstoursinternational.co.uk/events/2018-tour-de-france-lake-annecy-to-alpe-dhuez/.

Another package is 2018 Tour de France - The Pyrenean Stages 16 to 20, July 23-29, 2018: Stage 17 in the Pyrenees is the shortest (40 miles) stage in recent times but features three difficult climbs. Stage 19 features the famous Col du Tourmalet.A per person double, seven day/six night package from £1229 includes airport transfers from Toulouse Blagnac airport, hotel accommodations with breakfasts in Bagneres de Bigorre and Biarritz, some dinners and more. Prices are per person and availability is strictly limited to just a few places per stage.  For prices and details see https://www.sportstoursinternational.co.uk/events/tour-de-france-vip-one-day-experiences/.
