By: Loretta Kaufman Eligible media for membership includes painting, works on paper, video, sculpture and installation. Loretta's work was accepted in the sculpture category. After the jurying process and acceptance, artists were allowed to self-select their best work in any medium or category to be presented salon style in the NAWA Gallery. The exhibition represents a diverse array of artistic backgrounds, mediums and processes. Established in 1889, the National Association of Women Artists is the oldest women's fine art organization in the country. Currently 800 women from across the US are juried members of the association. Luminaries affiliated with the organization have included Mary Cassatt, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney and Louise Nevelson. The NAWA continues its long-standing tradition of supporting dynamic and relevant women artists all over the United States. Their mission is to promote culture and education of its members' works in the visual arts through exhibitions, education programs, scholarships and awards. The exhibition will take place at the National Association of Women Artists Headquarters at 315 West 39th Street, Suite 508 in New York City, from November 3rd through the 29th. An opening reception will be held on November 9th between 3-5 pm. A New Member's Induction Ceremony and PowerPoint presentation of accepted artists' works will be held at the Rubin Museum of Art, 150 West 17th Street, on November 10th from 10 am–1 pm. Several of Loretta's paintings have also been juried into Fusion Art's online exhibitions - "Elemental – Air, Fire, Earth, Water in 2015; "Waterscapes" About the Artist Nature, the natural world and life around us have always been the center of Loretta Kaufman's art. For over four decades, she has used a wide range of materials in her two and three-dimensional work including clay, wood, fiber, and paint. Loretta's sculpture, "Double Monologues: The Celia Series", was awarded First Place in San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts 3rd Annual Monarch Ceramic Competition. Over nine hundred entries were received from the US, Canada and Mexico. Loretta currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
