As an immediate response to the effects of Hurricane Irma, StandUp Wireless first announced on Sept. 7, 2017 that it would provide Unlimited Talk/Text and 5GB of data to all StandUp Wireless Puerto Rico-based subscribers for the month of September 2017. Shortly thereafter, Maria, the strongest hurricane to hit Puerto Rico in almost 90 years, left the entire island of 3.4 million people without power, destroying hundreds of homes and causing severe flooding in its aftermath. Many are still without power and other necessary resources.
"During this difficult time, we extend our thoughts and prayers to the good people of Puerto Rico," said Erwin Ramos, Vice President of Business Development. "We hope this extension of services provides some comfort to our Puerto Rico-based subscribers and helps those affected stay connected with their loved ones during their time of need."
