Follow on Google News | ![]() Urgent Pledges Needed to Protect Children from Sexual AbuseGW Theatre Company, widely acclaimed for its performance work with children and young people, has launched an ambitious crowdfunding campaign for two creative projects designed to keep young children safe from child sexual exploitation and abuse.
By: GW Theatre Company Creative Director, Dave Jones "The purpose of the play is to entertain, inform and safeguard children against risk and danger in real life and online. It goes into schools with great success but we need to engage with parents, carers and the wider community to help them understand the issues more and break down the fear around reporting these issues - and the animation is going to be a brilliant way to start that process. If we hit our crowdfund target we can build in learning for these people and translate the animation into different languages" Dave Jones again "There is an urgent need to work with very young children as they are increasingly being targeted, and just as urgent is the need to work with adults to build confidence in order to release the untapped power of families and communities" To achieve success the company needs to raise £20k before 16th October. This equates into just 1000 people pledging £20 each. Dave Jones "This is an urgent call out to the people of Greater Manchester. Please give £20 today - for the price of a few drinks or a takeaway you could help thousands and thousands of children to stay safe from the horrors and damage of child sexual exploitation and abuse" YOU CAN PLEDGE EASILY IN ONE OF THESE WAYS: http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/ Visit GW Theatre on Facebook and click the link Notes: 1.
