Art of Cool Fest Comes To Charlotte with an All-Star Line Up

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sept. 20, 2017 - PRLog -- On October 6 & 7, 2017, The Art of Cool Festival Charlotte will commence in Charlotte, NC attracting music lovers to various local music venues such as Morehead Tavern, The Blind Pig, Heist Brewery, The Evening Muse and Neighborhood Theatre. After having great success in Durham, NC for 4+ years, and emerging as the premiere festival in the Spring in Durham, has attracted over 10,000 attendees. Due to popular demand, Art of Cool Festwill come to Charlotte, in partnership with Sol Kitchen to launch a weekend of jazz forward and alternative soul performances.

The Charlotte festival lineup will be headlined by Grammy Award Winning Group, Robert Glasper Experiment (Saturday) and North Carolina's own Rapper Big Pooh (Friday). On Friday night at Morehead, the additional talent that will be featured are Harvey Cummings and Friends and The Queen's Guard. Saturday's schedule includes the following: The Evening Muse, featuring Al Strong Quartet, Chantae Cann, Zoocru & DJ Mic Check; Heist Brewery will feature a very popular party called Su Casa which features a performance by Blame The Youth with DJ's Justice and Steel Wheel; The Blind Pig will feature a popular Durham party called The Hang with DJ's Fannie Mae & That Guy Smitty & the finale will be held at Neighborhood Theatre and feature Dynamo, Kenneth Whalum & Robert Glasper Experiment.

When asked about her excitement of bringing the popular festival to Charlotte, Co-Founder Cicely Mitchell states "We are extremely excited to expand our reach in North Carolina. Many festival attendees are from the Charlotte area and so it is only fitting to launch a weekend of performances in this new market" and Michael Kitchen, of The Sol Kitchen shares "I am very excited to be working with AOCFEST and being that I am always looking for something different to bring to Charlotte, I believe this will fill that void."
