LAS VEGAS - April 10, 2017 - PRLog -- Thousands of people who suffer from the diseases of overeating, bulimia and anorexia have found relief and hope by joining Compulsive Eaters Anonymous- Honesty, Open Mindedness, Willingness. CEA-HOW is a worldwide twelve-step program for compulsive eaters. Members support one another by regularly attending meetings and abstaining from sugar and flour on a "one day at a time" basis.

The primary purpose of CEA-HOW is to carry its message to the compulsive eater who still suffers. Individual members and autonomous groups share their experiences and a program of recovery with those who seek it. There are no dues or fees for membership in CEA-HOW, just a viable, successful solution for those who suffer from the addiction of compulsive eating.

CEA-HOW is not a diet plan. It is based on Alcoholics Anonymous' 12 step program created by Bill W. and Dr. Bob in 1935. The program formally incorporated as CEA-HOW in 1996 and opened its World Service Office in Long Beach, CA in 1999. Today, CEA-HOW's World Service Office is located in Los Angeles, CA.

The goal of CEA-HOW is to help its members get to a normal weight. Members of follow a food plan that includes protein, fruit, vegetables and whole grains. Individuals have lost all their weight without exercise and have maintained varying levels of weight loss by following the program. Through the program's structure and support members have achieved decades of abstinence and lost hundreds of pounds.

Members of CEA-HOW describe their experiences in the program as "miraculous" and "life changing."

"I like myself today and I want to live," said Ruth R., a member of CEA-HOW in Las Vegas. "I am free from the obsession for food and I am healthier than I have ever been. I don't have to take medication anymore and I don't feel like I am alone because I have met so many wonderful people in the program."

"These are the happiest times of my life," said Debbie M., another Las Vegas member. "I weighed 198 pounds when I was 13 and I wanted to die. It feels amazing to wake up without a food binge hangover today. My kids brag about me and I enjoy spending time with them."

"My depression has lifted and my health issues have disappeared," said Jacki J, also a member of CEA-HOW Las Vegas. "My heart is happier physically and emotionally. I believe that it's important to take care of myself now. I have hope today and I know I can get through anything."

Currently, Las Vegas and surrounding cities including Reno, Carson City, Sparks, Bullhead City and Kingman hosts eleven regular CEA-HOW meetings. For more information, please visit http://www.ceahow.org/en/home/ or call 702-393-6570.
