Indian music is one of the oldest music, which is still available. Indian music has its own unique style, which is the reason behind it is immense popularity.

Sitar

Sitar is an Indian musical instrument, which first came in North India, and it is used extensively in classical music even now. It has a number of metal frets, and a number of cards, which ultimately makes the music. Under the frets of a sitar, you can get a number of sympathetic strings, which are close to 13 or 15, and they are to do with the Raga, which is the main reason behind the melodious tone of the sitar. A gourd is present, which acts as a regulator for the strings that is helpful in making the sound loud, and melodious.

Sarod

Sarod is another popular musical instrument, which was mostly used in ancient music, and is still used, nowadays in the best classical music. It doesn't come with a fret, but it comes with more than 25 strings, and they are sympathetic strings. Similar to sitar, sarod also has a metallic gourd, which acts as a regulator for making a loud sound. The strings are properly attached with the help of a triangular plectrum, and a number of popular classical vocalists still use sarod in their orchestra, and thus, it is quite popular.

Flute

Flute is one of the most common Indian musical instruments, which is not only used in classical Indian music, but it is also used in a number of modern music. It is not known, when the use of flute started in Indian music. Flute is nothing but a cylindrical tube, which has a uniform bore and is made from wood. Fruits are available in various sizes depending upon the requirements. The flute player has to keep the fingers on various holes available on the flute, to make different kind of musical sounds of various frequencies. In case of a larger flute, you can get additional frequencies compared to that of a smaller one.

Tabla

Tabla is one of the most popular musical instruments, which is still used nowadays, and it was first introduced in North India. It consists of a single pair of drums, namely the Tabla and a Bayan. The complete body of a Tabla is made from food, but the top portion is actually made from stretched animal skin. In order to fine-tune the music from a Tabla, striking the dream is necessary with the help of a small hammer.
