Synopsis: Murder in Montauk is a collection of short stories set primarily in the Long Island, New York area. The mostly professional and charismatic cast is featured in highly colored stories that vary from Russians stealing U.S. security secrets to struggling young musicians on their way to success. A sampling of these stories:

A series of mysterious callers contact Sid Landeman in the "Voices in the Night." The mysterious calls come around the same time every night. Strangers ask about his deceased mother, and they know intimate details about Sid's family, but neither his father nor siblings know the callers.

Allison Causely's body appears on the beach where her former Goldman Sachs colleagues surf in "Murder in Montauk." Bill Lee, a former New York City police officer freelancing with federal authorities, investigates Allison's volatile relationship with a wealthy businessman to discover clues about her murder.

In "Reunion Love," Alice and Chad see each other again at their high school reunion. Their on-again-off-again love affair ended many years ago, but they continued to carry a flame for each other. During a long discussion away from their high school friends, Alice and Chad revealed their true feelings and some of their secrets from the years after their final breakup. However, Alice was careful to keep her darkest secret to herself.

These fascinating stories showcase wanderings through the labyrinth of life.

Stories filled with a steady beat of intrigue and fascinating characters, Arnold Scarpati definitely makes his mark in the literary world with this extraordinary debut work. , said Brighton Publishing.

Arnold Scarpati had been in academia a good portion of his 20s and into his 30s, studying other people's writings and teaching literature and composition.

Eventually, marriage and children followed. His five beautiful and wonderful children awakened, innocently enough, his interest in creative writing, as he would tell them intricate and detailed bedtime stories on the spur of the moment. However, it wasn't until years later that he made the connection: hey, I might have an imagination.

He eventually decided to write creatively and found the process liberating and exciting, especially when compared to academia. His imaginative wellsprings were ultimately opened, and he hopes they stay that way. Besides family responsibilities, which he adores, by the way, his interests include guitar, yoga, golf, water sports, tennis, and TM.
