ISCD Announces 2017 QBD/Osteoporosis Essentials Course Schedule

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Feb. 2, 2017 - PRLog -- The International Society for Clinical Densitometry has released the dates and locations for the 2017 Quality Bone Densitometry/ Osteoporosis Essentials training course. Quality Bone Densitometry is essential training, but not required, for individuals pursuing certification in densitometry or those wanting to ensure they are performing quality skeletal health assessments and osteoporosis therapies.

ISCD's most popular course is concurrently offered for clinicians and technologists on the following dates/locations:

April 18 to April 19, 2017, Renaissance SeaWorld Orlando Hotel, Orlando, FL

July 15 to July 16, 2017, Westin Baltimore-Washington Int'l Airport Hotel, Baltimore, MD

Sept. 23 to Sept. 24, 2017, Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel, Portland, OR

Nov. 4 to Nov. 5, 2017, Sheraton Phoenix Airport Hotel Tempe, Phoenix, AZ

Dec. 2 to Dec 3, 2017, Hilton Garden Inn O'Hare Hotel, Chicago, IL

Veteran experts in the field will present the 2-day training specifically geared to working in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of skeletal health.

The technologist's course will focus on performing quality DXA scans, dissecting the data and applying this knowledge to a technologist's role in patient care. The clinician course is offered in two parts and attendees may choose to attend one day or both. The first day focuses on the standard to perform quality DXA interpretation. The second day concentrates on the clinical assessment, prevention, treatment and management of osteoporosis and the essential role that high-quality DXA plays in treatment and monitoring of osteoporotic patients.
