QUEENS, N.Y. - Jan. 20, 2017 - PRLog -- Please join the Board of Directors and members of the Queens Chamber of Commerce as we hear from NYS Lt. Governor, Kathy Hochul, detailing the plans for Queens County in the coming year.  The state constitution mandates that New York's governor address the Legislature once a year. Each year since his election in 2011, Cuomo has given the speech at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.  But this year, the message will be more localized with the Democrat traveling to specific areas, including Queens, with speeches tailored to where they're given.  Cuomo says the speech will focus on development strategies and proposals planned for Queens in the coming year.

Governor Cuomo appointed Lieutenant Governor Hochul to chair the Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Abuse and Addiction. In this capacity, she convened eight outreach sessions across New York State to hear from experts and community members in search of answers to the heroin crisis and works to develop a comprehensive strategy for New York.  Hochul spearheaded Governor Cuomo's Enough is Enough campaign to combat sexual assault on college campuses beginning in 2015 hosting and attending more than 25 events. As the highest ranking female elected official in New York State, she continues to be a champion for women and families across the state.
