vitaTrackr Launches Connected Austin Initiative to Study Hypertension in East Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - Nov. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- vitaTrackr, Inc., the leader in organizing an independent health data marketplace is launching a novel, data-intensive health study aimed at better understanding hypertension in East Austin. The collaboration between the hypertension study's participants, including business, nonprofit and local government to address a community challenge and improve community health is facilitated by Austin Community Foundation.

Completing this important step with the Austin Community Foundation paves the way to establish a universal nationwide health data solution that gives patients control of their health data and supports the delivery of health care in the 21^st century.

Hypertension and stroke combine to be the number one cause of death in Austin. The Eastern Crescent community is one of the highest risk populations and will be the initial focus of Connected Austin. Baum added, we recognize Mayor Adler's strong commitment to health equality.  We believe that technology has the potential to foster care equality and look forward to leveraging technology to advance the health of this community.

Participants will be invited to join a six-month trial where blood pressure will be measured for each participant on a systematic basis. Connected Austin health care providers, mobile apps, and a clinical study will have access to the health data as authorized by the individual patient participants.

Connected Austin plans to hold its East Austin Hypertension Study kickoff event in the near future.
