Nov. 17, 2016 - PRLog -- Freely programmable I/O modules belong to the core elements in several automation and building technology applications, for mass data processing, in test laboratories and in other industrial processes. The new I/O module RIO-2015PG from Artila, which will already be available from the German distributor Acceed soon, was developed by Artila specifically for this purpose.

The I/O module RIO-2015PG has 4 opto-isolated digital inputs, 4 analogue inputs, 2 relay outputs (switching output 30 VDC at 1 A or 125 VAC at 0.5 A) as well as 2 insulated analogue outputs. A Maxim 1-wire-interface serves to connect a temperature sensor.

The analogue inputs and outputs insulated up to 1500 Vrms work with a resolution of 16 bits and precision of +/-0.1% FSR.

As data interfaces, 2 serial ports RS-232 and RS-485 (insulated up to 2500 Vrms) are available as well as a RJ45 connection designed as an Ethernet interface for 10/100 Mbps.

As the CPU, an Atmel SAM4E16E Cortex M4 SoC with 120 MHz is used, the working memory with 128 KB SRAM and 1 MB flash on the chip can be extended to 2 MB with an SPI extension board. A MicroSD card interface extends the memory options.

Its integrated AJAX Web interface enables fast and easy programming and control using a Web browser. Windows and Linux C/C++ APIs are ready for further-reaching integration.

In connection with the fanless industrial micro PC Matrix 505 from the same manufacturer, the RIO module can be used immediately as a compact standalone application. The Matrix-505 offers two 10/100 Ethernet interfaces, two USB 2.0 host connections as well as a microSD slot for memory cards up to 32 GB.

The RIO-2010 module is suitable for assembly in switch cabinets (on top-hat rails) and can be operated using direct current from 9 to 48 V. The serial interfaces are executed as screw connector terminals. LEDs signalise the digital input and relay status. The admissible ambient temperature for operation is 0 to 70 °C.
