CAMBRIDGE, U.K. - Oct. 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Twitter has announced it is to close its video sharing service Vine about four years after it launched. The closure of the video sharing platform will affect many people.

Vine let people share six-second-long video clips that played on a loop.

"In the coming months we'll be discontinuing the Vinemobile app," the company

Twitter acquired Vine before it had officially launched in 2012, but has since integrated video into the Twitter platform, and launched livestreaming app Periscope.

The company said the app and website would not close immediately, and members would be given the opportunity to download and save their videos.
