The Immokalee Job-Link Center is one of 16 Job-Link Centers operated by the organization. The center will be open Mondays and Tuesdays, 9:00a.m.-4:00 p.m. Job-Link Centers provide free computer access to develop resumes, search for jobs, and apply for needed services like unemployment and food stamps. Last year, Goodwill helped more than 1,300 people Southwest Florida find jobs, through Job-Link services, Pathways to Work, and other programs. "We're excited to expand our Job-Link services to Immokalee," says Goodwill spokesperson Kirsten O'Donnell. "Job-Link centers are about more than just jobs. They're about helping people find the services they need to be as independent as possible." In addition to Goodwill's employment-related guidance, the nonprofit also partners with other agencies to provide family strengthening services, such as money management, foreclosure assistance, income tax preparation, and English as a second language courses. Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Inc. (http://www.goodwillswfl.org) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades Counties. The agency's mission is to help people with disabilities and disadvantages by offering life-changing opportunities to achieve independence.
